EastEnders' Sonia Fowler will be left devastated in upcoming scenes, as she believes her partner Reiss Colwall doesn't want to have children with her.

As viewers will know, it was recently revealed that Sonia thinks she could be pregnant with Reiss' baby after realising her period is late.

However, Reiss accidentally put his foot in it when he drunkenly started sharing his negative views towards the prospect of having children.

In scenes set to air next week, Sonia is confused as to why Reiss is being so cold towards her, unaware that he wrongly suspects that she has cheated on him because she has been so secretive since discovering she might be pregnant.

On top of this, Sonia is still reeling over Reiss' comments about not wanting to be a dad and confides in Whitney Dean.

Back at No 25, Sonia prepares to take a pregnancy test with Whitney's support. But, while Sonia is in the bathroom, Whitney is shocked to discover Reiss trying to hack into Sonia's phone.

A heated argument ensues, leaving a devastated Sonia believing Reiss wants children – just not with her.

After that, Reiss tries everything in his power to win Sonia over, but nothing works until he's really honest with her.

They later have an open discussion about everything, but what will mean for their future together?

This all comes as Sonia is still trying to deal with the aftermath of discovering Reiss is still married to Debbie, who lives in a care home due to being unresponsive after having a stroke.

EastEnders airs on Mondays - Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer.
